A magnificent folio edition showcasing Alfred, Lord Tennyson's narrative poem Vivien, part of his renowned Idylls of the King series.

Inside, the book features nine exquisite full-page steel-engraved plates by Gustave Doré, whose illustrations bring a captivating depth and atmosphere to Tennyson's poetic retelling of Arthurian legend. 

Bound in forest-green leather with gilt decoration and title. The covers are worn and the spine has been re-backed with portions of the original spine laid down. The text block edges are in gilt with the FFE, frontispiece, and tissue paper visible taped repaired. However, the binding is intact, and there is occasional minor foxing. There are nine engravings illustrated by Gustave Dore. The book is in good(+) condition.
