This Great Flower Book is a bibliographical Record of Two Centuries of Finely-Illustrated Flowers. It is a large folio, 20 plates in color, and 16 in black & white.
The Plates have been printed in 8-color photo-litho-offset and monochrome collotype by van Leer of Amsterdam. The text pages have been set in Monotype Garamond and printed by Meijer of Wormerveer. The Decorata type on the title page, drawn by Berthold Wolpe, is used courtesy of the Westerham Press Ltd, Westerham, Kent.
There are limited printings to only 295 numbered copies on 'Amstel' special mould-made paper and 1750 copies on 'Gelderland' white cartridge. The Wigmore Bindery, London, has executed the binding of the numbered copies. Mansells of London has bound the unnumbered copies.
Book Condition: Very Good. Slipcase: Good. The 4" slipcase split has been repaired at the bottom edge, with rubbing and a slight discoloration on the bottom edge. The book is in a half-green Morocco leather spine and corners over marbled boards, with gilt lettering on the spine. The book has been signed by the authors Sittwell and Blunt. This is SIGNED by authors Sittwell and Blunt, copy No. 42, ex-library reference book with minimal stamps. Some of the tissue guards have chipping. Otherwise, clean and unmarked, and the binding is secure.
