Hardcover bound in richly textured maroon leather with 22 kt gold accents and lettering, printed on acid-neutral pages that are thread-sewn, not glued together. The edges of the pages are gilded with 22 kt gold to protect them further. A silk page marker is sewn into the binding. There are raised spine bands that give each volume that distinctive look. Silk moire endpapers. It is a beautiful copy with tight binding and is unmarked. The book is slightly rubbed on the head of the spine and front cover. The book has a minor bump on the front cover corner.
