by James Whitcomb Riely
Illustrated by C.M. Reyea and Will Vawter

A Defective Santa Claus describes one of the most beloved traditions of the modern Christmas celebration. The book reminds us of the joy children take in the holiday and the sometimes loving extremes parents go to fulfill that anticipation and wonder of Christmas in their children's lives.

James Whitcomb Riely (October 7, 1849 - July 22, 1916) was an American writer, poet, and author. Born in Indiana, he earned the nickname "Hoosier Poet" due to his roots in the state, famously known as the Hoosier State. Riley's poems tended to be humorous or sentimental. Most of the approximately one thousand poems he authored are in dialect. His famous works include "Little Orphant Annie" and "The Raggedy Man."

This small but quaint book is bound in green sateen-like cloth with a pale green and red Christmas design. The title on the front panel and spine is in gilt. The front panel and spine are sunned, with rubbing to the extremities. There is bumping to the board corners and to the text block corners. Otherwise, the text block is clean and unmarked, and the binding is secure.
