There is wear throughout the text block edges, from minor tears to bends. There is also foxing and staining to the pastedowns and free endpapers. This book is heavily illustrated with 43 Photographs and 44 Sketches and Diagrams. Book Condition: Good. Dust Jacket: None. The boards have a black title and a gilt title on the spine. The boards have shelf wear, bumping, minor staining, and edge wear. In addition, the spine has rubbing to the head and tail. There is slight foxing, red markings, and the owner's name on the front pastedown. Otherwise, the binding is tight. The book contains something of science and many curious observations indoors and out, and directions for a homemade microscope. The book has numerous illustrations throughout. 126pp, 4'1/2" x 7"

Book Condition: Good. Dust Jacket: None. The boards are red with a gilt title on the front cover and spine. The book cover is heavily bumped and has damp staining on both covers. Additionally, the covers have shelf-wear and rubbing. The text block has damp staining on the top margin. The book is slightly cracked between the front pastedown and free endpaper. Otherwise, the binding is tight, and the pages are unmarked. There are numerous illustrations throughout. There is a handwritten name on the front, pastedown by Richmond Cranston Holcomb. Provenance: Captain Richmond Cranston Holcomb (1874-1945) was an American naval surgeon and author. He served aboard numerous ships as a surgeon during the Spanish-American War, and went on to write several books about the origin of syphilis, arguing that the disease came from Europe, as opposed to the more prevalent belief that it originated in the New World. 128pp, 5"x7"

Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket: None. The book's boards are brown and have a gilt title on the front cover and spine. There is shelf wear on the cover, rubbing on the cover corners, and on the top and bottom edges of the spine. There is minor bumping on the text block edges, the pages are unmarked, and the binding is secure. This book was designed for medical students, and it's a compendium of medical chemistry, inorganic and organic, and includes urinary analysis. I added this book as part of this "science" lot, and it has a similar shape and size and was close to the publishing time frame of the others books listed. 200pp, 5"x7"
